Hi! My name is Taya Ovdienko. I’m a children’s book illustrator from Ukraine.

My creative path started back in childhood. After art school, I earned degrees in fashion design through college and university, working in the industry for a bit. But my heart always belonged to storybooks, and I eventually came back to what I love most: bringing magical stories to life on the page.

• Cozy Studio Companion: I create alongside my fluffy cat, Perlynka (Perla), who inspects every sketch and keeps the studio extra cozy.
• The Planning Mind: I adore planning—lists, notes, calendars, you name it! Keeping everything organized helps me keep projects smooth and stress-free.
• Digital & Traditional: My daily workflow lives in Procreate, but I also love experimenting with traditional materials.
• Guilty Pleasure: I absolutely love beetroot juice. Yes, really!

I have extensive experience collaborating with authors and publishers worldwide—including the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, and China.
Every project I build is filled with sincerity, warmth, vivid details, and a heartfelt dedication to the craft.
